Boardcrafter Design v1.0.1 is now available for download. This release addresses two bugs described in the release notes. The old software keys for v1.0.0 will still function for this bug fix release so re-registration of the software is not required.

Make a Snowboard Base Template - Part 6 PDF Print E-mail
Written by Dante Martin

This video covers how to make a snowboard base template. As with the mold rib templates it begins by printing out the shape from Boardcrafter Design and sticking it to MDF fiber board using spray adhesive. The shape is then cut out very carefully with a high quality Jigsaw and a new wood cutting blade.

In this video only one side of the template is accurate after the first cutting attempt. The accurate side is used to make a new template that mirrors the accurate half on both sides of the new template shape. This creates a new symmetrical template shape that is true to the original design and will be used to route the base material.

As long as they have a program that will read a CAD file you can do this by exporting the design to a dxf but they would not be able to do much with the bcr format.
