With Boardcrafter Design’s ability to print snowboard templates at 1:1 scale using a standard printer and the introduction of the free shapes library the need for preprinted templates has been eliminated.

The snowboard templates previously available in the Boardcrafter shop have been removed. The shop still provides component snowboard materials and software registration keys.

Hi,

Im looking at building a few boards but im a little unsure about the vacuum pump.

I've found this one: www.veneersupplies.com/products/Excel-1-...um-Press-System.html but im not completly sure if it will do the job.

If not could you please let me know of one that will

I just got done running the test... not good. The vac quickly climbed to -13 Hg then began falling and the air compressor could not keep up.

Another option is to make something like the pumps shown here: http://www.joewoodworker.com/veneering/decidingtobuild.htm

In theory it 'should'. Based on what they claim: "...it pulls full vacuum within 2 minutes"

The cup assembly is specialized and would need to purchased from somewhere like Jamestown.

so even that cheapest option would have enough suction to get a good seal on the board?

also. the vacuum cup, can that just be found at any hardware store?

sorry i'm being a pain haha.

Jamestown Distributors has a lot of vacuum bagging supplies. A quality pump option would be somthing like this:

www.jamestowndistributors.com/userportal...=Vacuum+Bagging+Pump

A cheap option would be something like this:

http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/ctaf/di...taf?Itemnumber=98076

The cheapest option of all would be this:

http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/ctaf/di...taf?Itemnumber=96677

I bought this Venturi-type vacuum pump out of curiosity but have not used it yet. It requires an air compressor so if you don't have one it's probably not an option. I have not used it yet but I'll post results when I test it out.

Anyone know where I could find vaccum materials? If only just the pump?
also, are there any specifications i should be looking for in the pump?

so what exactly are all of the things you need for the vacuum bagging system? and what would the estimated cost for building one?

All the parts for mine were purchased separately. Kits are an easier way to go though.

The pump is probably one of the hardest things to get because they are not as common as other tools and they're not cheap. I recently came across this pump and it's the lowest cost one I've seen.

If anyone has a review of this I'd really like to hear about it.

Did your vacuum setup come as a kit or did you get parts individually?
